It is finally getting warm!

Well, with the warm weather the grass grows and I find myself on the back of the mower alot. I have the road side of the tree line really looking nice. It has been a beautiful few days and I have been working on the garden. I was feeling good about how mine is growing until I looked at someones blog from Georgia and she is already picking stuff out of hers. I think this weekend we will start eating lettuce from ours. I think one of the head lettuce is ready and some of the romaine lettuce. We will probably get a nice gathering of strawberries about Saturday and then it should be another week and I will be putting them in the freezer. Looks like the Red Rasberries will be ready in a week or so also. I think this year I will finally have enough to can...I bought little pie tins at the Amish Store the other day to put out to help keep the birds away...

The baby goats and lambs are doing well. I have pictures taken. I will try to get some put out so you can see the. Oh, they are all so lovable...We have lots of blks this year. I usually don't have enough black fiber to do much with. Should this year.

I have been busy washing wool. I am trying to get ready to go to A Fiber Festival the first weekend in June. I bought a vintage cabinet to add to my wool store area here at the house. It is so cute and is a compliment to the set up.

Emily and I went to a Wool Art show in Washington IN last weekend. It is mainly made up of Rug Hookers. They are considering opening up another area next year and adding more vendors so I wanted to go see how things were in case I wanted to do it next year up there...They had a nice crowd. Em and I have been doing a little rug hooking. Em spun her yarn for her project. It is looking good.

Jarrod and David are going to IL Saturday to deliver a Llama chute that Jarrod made...That has kept Jarrod busy since he got out of school. He has a guy waiting for him to do some work around his place now that he has the chute done then Jarrod has some llama shearing jobs lined up. One guy has about 23 llamas so it will take him a couple days to do them...Mid-June Jarrod is going to do a Spanish class . He really likes the teacher that is teaching . Guess a guy better look at that when it comes to taking Spanish...

Em is one busy girl right now. 4-H Dog Obedience is in full swing then guitar lessons. It is only a couple 3 week ends til the Lotus Dickey Festival where she performs. This year Jarrod will perform also...By himself and along with the band Em plays in....Anyway they are practicing hard right now...

All my Iris are blooming right now. This year I found I have about 6 different styles of purple iris blooming. I had no ideal. 2 years ago I went to visit a friend in KY and she gave me iris then. Of course it was fall so we had no ideal what I was getting. It is been lots of fun every time they open up to see what I have...

Everybody take Care and enjoy spring. I think we are going from some very decent cool weather into some pretty warm this weekend. David and Jarrod have been mowing hay all day today so we are anxious to see what we get baled. Of course last year started out with a nice cutting and that was about all we got after that...We have had a nice wet spring and the wind rows are just huge so we are all glad for the sun...

Enjoy your Long Weekend...Pam
